City Centre Muscat and City Centre Qurum, Majid Al Futtaim’s shopping and lifestyle destinations in the Sultanate, invite residents and tourists to join the Ramadan festivities by participating in traditional activities at the malls. City Centre Muscat and City Centre Qurum kicks off a special Ramadan programme this week with entertainers dressed in traditional costume to greet visitors with a fruity Jallab and tamarind juice, a popular Iftar drink. The malls are open until 12 midnight daily and until 1am during the last week of Ramadan.

Join a traditional performance

Visitors will be enthralled by Tanoura dancers, who will showcase folkloric dance that is inspired by Dervishes and Sufi music everyday until next week. There will be three 15 minute shows at City Centre Muscat and City Centre Qurum as per the schedule.

Listen to old Omani tales

Go back in time with stories, folklore and sagas as told by a Hakawati, a storyteller who will highlight the importance of oral history, with three 20-minute sessions every day from June 14 at City Centre Qurum. Visitors will also have an opportunity to take photos with the Hakawati.

As part of Majid Al Futtaim’s ‘Make a Difference’ Ramadan campaign, visitors are also encouraged to donate to families in need by dropping off toys, clothes and books at the collection boxes in the malls. The donations will go towards supporting Omani non-profit Dar Al Al Atta’a. The organisation works to improve the lives of underprivileged people in the Sultanate.
